Thriller
Grey was extremely excited about the 6th grade presentation of Thriller. He did a great job. Grandma and Grandpa even were able to make it up to Layton to see the performance. It was a lot of fun to watch.

National Make a Difference Day
Jim, Aj, Grey, and Seth workers very had doing service a couple of Saturday ago. They worked all morning in the rain. Afterwards the stake provided lunch and activities. One of the activities was a short, very slow ride on a horse. Grey thought it was cool, but wished he could have gone faster. Seth spent most of his time in the inflatable bounce house. Aj spent most of his time talking to girls. Jim spent most of his time talking about football to anyone that would listen.

Seth was a Ninja this year. My mom and I made this costume on a Saturday with whatever she had at her house. I only bought the swords. He was very scary!!

Grey's Halloween
Grey was Obiwan Kinobi for Halloween this yea. My mom and I made this costume at her house on a Saturday. We made it with some old couch cover material and whatever else we could find in her drawers of treasure. He was the coolest Jedi out there!

Seth and the Piano
Seth has been taking piano lessons for over a month now and he loves it. He is very good at it and is learning very quickly. He can memorize his songs super fast even when its not required.

Grey and the Bass
Grey has talked us into letting him try the Bass in the school orchestra. Today is his first day. He is so excited. I think it will be good for him, but transporting the thing will pose somewhat of a challenge.

Pictures at the Bears Game
I'm not sure exactly how many pictures Jim took before the game, but he was down there for quite a while. Its a good thing cameras are digital now and I don't have to pay to develop the pictures.

Bears Game
The view from our seats. We sat by some really fun Bears fans...minus the language issue that was really not my favorite. It was such an intense game. It got so loud that Jim and I still can't hear each other. The Bears won, thankfully. The score was 20 to 17.

Gates don't open until 5:30. We got here at 4:15 just to make sure we were here on time for the 7:30 start. We did not want to repeat missing the first 9 minutes like we did for the Michigan game. Jim is super excited!

Top Chef in Chicago
Last night we ate dinner at Gino's East in Chicago. After dinner, Jim went out to the curb to get the car from the valet while I finished paying the check. Before I came out, as Jim was standing and waiting, he saw Marcus - the winner of Top Chef Masters. Without thinking Jim exclaimed out loud, "Top Chef Masters!!" Marcus turned around and said hi, then shook his hand. When I came out Jim told me. We then noticed that Gino's East is right next door to his restaurant, C-chops.

Michigan vs. Bowling Green
We thought we were about an hour early but as we walked toward the stadium we heard the crowd cheer and the announcer said "first down Michigan." So the game started at noon not One. Bummer. It was a lot of fun. Michigan won by a lot. It was something like 65 to 21. I think Jim had a great time. The weather was perfect.

Cubs vs. Cards
we got here right when the gates opened. I am feeling a little cold but Jim is loving the Chicago Fall weather. There are a lot of people wanting to see the Cubs quilt this time. We are having lots of fun and I'm so glad I was able to plan this surprise trip.

Weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's
Grey and Seth spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's last night. They went on a hike yesterday. Grey was really impressed with a boy in the primary at Grandma's that could play th music from the cantina in the Star Wars movie on the piano.

Homecoming for AJ
Aj asked Courtney to homecoming yesterday. Kelsey helped him fill a bunch of balloons and one of them had his name in it. Courtney answered the same night. she made him sift through a big bag of flower for the answer and then she came and rang the doorbell 10 min later with a rose and said "sorry, wrong flower".

Samuel Miguel Calderon
Andres and Stacee's baby was born On Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Stacee had to have a c-section because Samuel was breech. Stacee is doing well and Samuel is healthy. Jim wants to call him Samuelson and I want to call him Sammy. Either way, he is adorable!!

Cowabunga Bay Birthday Party
Grey got to pick 3 friends to take with him to Cowabunga Bay for his birthday party this year. He asked Alex, Amber and Garrett. the Eborn's and the Stone's joined us. I think the kids had tons of fun on the water slides. They also enjoyed getting dumped on. Cowabunga Bay has 2 huge buckets way up high that dump when they have accumulated 1200 gallons of water. There was also a lazy river, but the water was warmer than we would've liked. We had a fun day playing in the water and soaking up the sun.

First day of 6th grade for Grey
Grey has heard good things about his teacher Mrs. Lloyd. He says she is the teacher he wanted. I can't believe he only has one year left before dreaded Jr. High.

Idaho falls temple
Jim and I stopped to take a picture of the temple on our way back from Rexburg. we were in Rexburg for the Rexburg rush triathlon. I did the 1 mile swim, Ana did the 28 mile bike ride and Mary did the 6 mile run. our team was Mommas on a Mission. we took 3rd in our division of all women relay. People are usually pretty impressed with this stat but it is funny that there were actually only 3 teams. I was second to last out of the water. The only person I didn't beat was an old guy. The person in front of me probably beat me by 15 minutes. It took me about an hour to do the swim which is what I was expecting. I knew I would be slower than the others. I'm proud of myself for doing it.

Rockies vs. Indians 5/13/10
Great baseball game yesterday. Not much action for Grey this time. Rockies were ahead most the game and in the last inning the Indians came back to tie the game 6 - 6. Grey only had one at bat and hit a pop fly to the first baseman who caught it...bummer. He played Left field, but none of the balls went his direction.
Turns out Seth had a game on Wednesday that I thought was cancelled due to the rain. I feel so bad that he missed his game. He was really bummed when he found out.

Seth's baseball game and Jordan's softball game were both cancelled today due to the rain and lightening. Seth was pretty upset about it. He wants to break in his new cleats.
Grey had to run the mile today. He really wanted an mp3 player to listen to while he ran. He did not get what he wanted. He is so picked on.
He ran the mile in 13 min. 34 sec.

Goldilocks
My wonderful sister, Ana, talked me into signing up for this bike ride. It was by Saratoga Springs. I did the 15 mile ride along with Stacee, my awesome sister-in-law, and Kelly. Ana did the 30 with Emily. It was a really cold morning, but I'm glad I did it. I am super tired.
Grey and Seth spent the day with Grandpa. My dad had surgery on his ear again so he was taking it easy today.
I got to see Holly's baby girl today! She is so cute! I had too much fun shopping for a girl.

Grey was sent home on a wild pitch. It was close, but he beat the play and scored!!
